Palamau: The former minister, KN Tripathi urges people to bring party back to power. Virtually sounding the state poll bugle, as the state election is due and could be taking place by end of this year, the former minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj & Labour and Employment labelled BJP and Raghuvar Das the 'most corrupt' government ever since the state becomes, and calling for bringing his party [Congress] back to power.
During the course of interaction, K N Tripathi said “This nagada beating is to put the last nail in the Raghuvar led BJP government's coffin.” Exhorting people to ensure the Congress party returns to power, the minister said: “whatever welfare schemes were launched during my tenure as minister have been put off; the benefits of these schemes are not reaching people because the state government is corrupt, therefore, people are fed up with this government and eagerly waiting to kick them out”.
Despite having so much of potential in the state, it is clearly seen that this government has lack of clear vision; the state is full of natural resources but the people are bound to flee from the state in search of jobs and their livelihood. I as minister have extensively worked upon to improve the lifestyle of the people; there have been numbers of schemes were started during my stint, unfortunately most of them have either been stopped, or not implemented yet, the former minister added.
He also alleged that the State government had forgotten poor people, youths, farmers, labours, who are the back bone of the state. While, it was busy in celebrating the 'Momentum Jharkhand' which was a biggest failure ever in the state. Millions of rupees were wasted on the name of bringing investments, creation of jobs etc, but none of these seen comes in, and our youths have to go outside state for jobs, labours are still going other states.
I brought hundreds of crores for 2nd phase water pipeline, aiming to provide drinking water and water of irrigations separately for which DPRs were also prepared for both the areas rural as well as urban. It were Singra and Hatia water pipelines for irrigation, while Koyal River for drinking water, soon after our government collapsed; all such schemes were put off in dustbins.
Thousand of crores unused money has been returned by the incumbent government. Being a minister for Panchayati Raj and Labour and Employment, I took several initiatives such as the provisions of backward regions grant funds which primarily aims to address the regional imbalances in development. This makes to me visit every District, Zila Parishad of the state after that follow up schemes got passed
What are your priorities?
My priorities are based on the people demands, which have not been fulfilled even after so many years. For last 13 years BJP is in power, and they couldn't provide even better health facility, education, drinking water, jobs for youths, farmer's distress etc. Though, the minister for health comes from the same commissionery, but the situation remains unchanged – people are still dying in government hospital due to lack of basic facilities, and If I come to power – foremost work will be to ensure the basic facilities. Secondly – to bring good educational institutions, the incumbents have not been able to deliver the quality education which badly affects the new generations; I would prefer to have job oriented institutions on massive scales that will help fostering the jobs.
Thirdly – drinking water, knowing to the fact that Palamau region has excessive fluoride contaminated water which killing people before their arrived age, during my stint – at some extent works were done, however ground statute remains as it is; 'Chukru Village' of Palamau district is known for high attitude fluorosis in the water which causing the villagers with many diseases such as, tooth decay, painful warping of bones, brain fetel, pineal gland, thyroid function and osteosarcome etc. So this is also in my agenda once again, in order to curve this from its roots I will also step in once again.
Fourthly – water for irrigation - the land of Palamau is extremely fertile, but it lacks adequate water to grow the same. We are still dependent on 'Mansoon' if it fails to perform largely all cultivation gets ruined and our farmers have to badly suffer. I will ensure the Mandal Dam DPR to take reshapes, firstly its water to be used by our farmers, and then it can go to elsewhere including Bihar. I am effortlessly working to improve the farmers' distress and agriculture-related issues among the top 10 priorities: availability of water for agriculture; agricultural Loan availability; high price realization for farm products; and agricultural subsidy for seeds/fertilisers.
Fifth – I would also like to ensure the all works should be completed within a stipulated timeline; schemes related with centre will have its own timeline, though state run scheme will take its own course.
On Joining BJP
In electoral politics, particularly a person like me, who has participated, achieved success and failed in electoral battles, being in the thick of it for a very long time, we know that the party has to adapt and change to the situation. There are two reference points in response to your question, one is that I have never been in talks with any other political outfits, extremely been critical of Raghuvar led BJP government, so there is no question that I am going along them. Secondly- I am exceedingly positive that congress party will get full majority in the state, the congress party of its own will have more than 60 seats across the state.
On Coalition with Other Like - Minded Parties
See! My instances have not changed yet - if I am being heard by the leadership – not in favour of alliance with any state outfits. In the state, only two parties have 'Janadhar' the Congress party has itself intact vote share, on the other side – BJP has certain votes, however, no 'Janadhar' for other parties such as JMM, JVM, RJD etc. The RJD is collapsed in the state, they even dont have candidate to contest the assembly election at all 81 constituencies.
On His Rival Alok Chaurasia
The 'guru – chela' [Raghuvar Das and Alok Chaurasia] have done nothing for this constituency. He [Alok] didn't play the role of MLA in the Daltongunj constituency. People are fed up with him, and will make to learn lesson during the election. On being asked that Chaurasia says people that you have not voted for me; hence won't listen to you, or don't work' KN Tripathi says that people will answer him through 'right to caste vote' which 'constitution has empowered' to them. Let's wait another 3-4 months, things will be cleared to everyone.
